A significant goal of a college preparatory school is guiding students into appropriate college placement as they complete their high school years. The Jackson Prep College Counseling Office has made a commitment to provide a supportive environment for students and families to make informed choices by providing resource material, offering counsel, and assisting in the submission of applications.

The Jackson Prep college counseling philosophy subscribes to the notion that there is no single best school for each student. Rather, there are probably a number of schools that would serve each student well. Simply attending a school like Jackson Prep does not guarantee a student admission to the selective college of his/her choice nor does it guarantee scholarships. The Prep experience can, however, give each student the type of supportive environment to facilitate good decisions that will give him/her the opportunity to make the most of the college years. The counselors strive to assist students in making broadly considered, well thought out decisions about successful college placement. One of our overall goals is to alleviate as much anxiety, fear, and confusion as possible.
