Jane Leech - Social Studies

Mrs. Leech teaches eighth grade American history. In her seven years at Prep she has taught tenth grade world history, served as sponsor of the Junior High Student Council, sponsor of Junior High Youth Legislature, and served on various committees dealing with student life. She currently serves as Chairman of the Social Studies Department and directed seventh grade Orientation at the beginning of the school year. She was Prep's nominee for Teacher of the Year to the MPSEA during the 2002-03 school year.

A graduate of Tupelo High School, Mrs. Leech holds a bachelor of arts degree from Millsaps College and a master's degree from Mississippi College. Her teaching experience includes both parochial and other private schools in the Jackson area. She and her husband are the proud parents of three young adults.

"For as long as I can remember all that I have wanted to do was to have a family and teach school. I feel very blessed to have been able to accomplish both of those goals. Teaching at Prep has allowed me to discover that I love teaching the history of our country and that I love teaching thirteen and fourteen year olds. I hope I instill in my students a deeper appreciation of those folks who were just like us and the sacrifices they made for our country."
