Laurie McClintock - English
Mrs. Laurie McClintock is starting her tenth year teaching junior high English and her fifth year at Prep. Upon graduating from Washington School in Greenville, MS, she received a B.A. in English with a minor in Southern Studies from the University of Mississippi. After graduation, she received her M.A.T. in Secondary English Education at the University of Memphis. She has taught at Olive Branch Middle School and Washington School. At Prep, she has taught seventh and ninth grade English and has assisted in resource. She also organizes the seventh grade Orientation. This year she will be teaching three classes of seventh grade English.

Her interests include spending time with family, playing tennis, going to the beach, studying the Bible, and reading of any kind. As a new endeavor, she is also a realtor with Crye-Leike Realtors. A mother of a son and two daughters, she and her husband John are members of Broadmoor Baptist Church.

Personal statement: I am thankful for my job at Prep; I love what I do. It is definitely my calling in life. Having children of my own has helped me to see the students in a different way than in the past. It reminds me that I teach someone's baby and that each is an individual. My three favorite aspects of teaching are trying to figure out "what works" for each child, recognizing and appreciating their differences, and witnessing and being a part of students' "light bulb" moments while learning. Although those sound cliché, they really are what keep me going.
