Haire - Business Department Chair
I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. Growing up in Clinton, my favorite game was “playing school” and I was always the teacher. As a student at Mississippi College, I knew that I wanted to major in education. The hard part was deciding what I wanted to teach…math, business subjects, or home economics. I decided on business subjects and graduated with a double major in Business Education and Accounting.
Mr. Jesse Howell hired me as a first-year teacher, fresh out of school…and I’ve never left! During my time here I have taught various computer courses, accounting, and business law. I currently teach 6th grade, 8th grade, and senior high computer, as well as accounting. I also serve as chair of the Business and Technology department and co-sponsor Homecoming. In 2005, I was honored to be named a Metro Jackson Outstanding Teacher.
Also during my time at Prep, I have earned my Master’s Degree, gotten married, and had two beautiful daughters. My husband, Mark, is an attorney. Our oldest daughter, Mary Morgan, is a Prep student in the class of 2013. Molly is a student at First Presbyterian Day School.
Teaching is the perfect job for a wife and mom. I spend most of my time away from school taking care of my family and enjoying my time with them. I also enjoy serving my church where I teach 7th grade Sunday School and 4th grade Missions.
