Troy is in his 18th year
of teaching and coaching, his 9th year at Jackson Prep. He attended
the University of Mississippi where he received a Bachelor's degree
in Accounting. He also earned a diploma in Basic Spanish at the
Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California while serving
in the U.S. Army. Troy began his career at Woodland Hills Baptist
Academy. He taught English and Spanish and coached varsity girls
and boys basketball. Before coming to Prep, he spent four years
at Jackson Academy where he taught English and coached varsity
boys and junior high girl's basketball. Troy's duties at Prep
include teaching Spanish and coaching all levels of girls basketball.
His hobbies include snow skiing, golf, target shooting, fishing
and writing. He is also an avid reader. His favorite book is Legends
of the Fall by Jim Harrison, and his favorite short story is The
Short Happy Life of Frances Macomber by Ernest Hemingway.
