Jackson Prep welcomes applicants from all ethnic, racial and socio-economic backgrounds who can benefit from the school’s commitment to academic excellence and strong co-curricular and extra-curricular programs.

The largest entry level for Jackson Prep is the seventh grade. However, we also offer grade six for a limited number of students. Applications for all grades are accepted September 1 of the year prior to initial enrollment.

Admission Steps for all applicants:
- Submit a completed Application for Admission along with the $40 fee
- Submit a copy of student’s latest report card
- Take required admission tests [see dates for tests]
- Submit completed Transcript Release Form

Group admission testing is administered in the McRae Building on the Prep campus. Reservations are required.

Beginning in December 2007, enrollment packets will be mailed to applicants who have successfully completed the admission process. Early registration deadline is February 1, 2008.

Financial assistance is available on a first come basis to families who demonstrate financial need after the student has been accepted for admission.

The Admission Committee reviews all complete applicant files to determine a student’s readiness for Jackson Prep. By our Mission Statement, we serve average to above average students. We use nationally-normed standardized testing results compared with the student’s record of success at previous schools to make admission decisions. In partnership with applicant parents, we want to ensure that students find the best fit for their secondary school experience.
