PREP SENIORS ACCEPT SCHOLARSHIPS TO MSU

Eleven seniors from Jackson Prep have accepted scholarships to Mississippi State University. PREP SENIORS RECEIVE OLE MISS SCHOLARSHIPS

Twenty-six members of the Class of 2005 at Jackson Prep received scholarships from the University of Mississippi. This fall they will be enrolling as freshmen at Ole Miss. PREP BASEBALL ACHIEVES THREE-PEAT

Jackson Prep’s baseball team won the MPSA AAA State Championship title for the third consecutive year. Pictured wearing their medals after this year’s championship game are team members.

JACKSON PREP BOYS AND GIRLS AAA TENNIS STATE CHAMPIONS

Both the boys’ and girls’ tennis teams at Jackson Prep ended their seasons with back-to-back AAA state championship titles and undefeated seasons. The girls swept all matches at the state tournament. With a season record of 12-0 and a conference record of 7-0, both teams also won the South State championships. PREP 2005 VALEDICTORIAN AND SALUTATORIAN

Jackson Preparatory School recently named Kate Cunningham (right) as valedictorian of the Class of 2005. Kelley Frances Fenelon (left) was named salutatorian. In the fall Kate will attend the University of Mississippi. She is the recipient of the following scholarships: Carrier Scholarship, Lucky Day Merit Scholarship, National Merit Finalist Scholarship, Lucky Day Computer Scholarship, ESF Scholarship, MPSEA ACT Scholarship, Kelley Gene Cook All-Star Student Scholarship, and the Chancellor’s Leadership Class. Kelley Frances will attend Princeton University in the fall. She is the recipient of the following scholarships: Executive Women International Scholarship, National Merit Finalist Scholarship, William R. Salomon Scholarship, MPSEA ACT Scholarship, STAR Student Scholarship, NASSP Principal’s Leadership Award. She also was named one of Mississippi’s two Presidential Scholars, making her the twelfth Prep student to receive this honor.

PREP NJHS ELECTS 2005 – 06 OFFICERS

The Jackson Prep National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) recently elected officers for the 2005-06 school year. Invitation to membership in the NJHS is based on scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. The organization is sponsored by Mrs. Sandy Cazier and Mrs. Becky Herren.
