PREP ANNOUNCES NATIONAL MERIT SEMIFINALISTS
The Jackson Preparatory School class of 2006, with 16 National
Merit Semifinalists, continues a Jackson Prep tradition of
outstanding performance in the National Merit Scholarship
program. Since 1970, Jackson Prep has produced 461 National
Merit Semifinalists. More than 1.3 million juniors in nearly
21,000 U.S. high schools entered the 2006 National Merit Program
by taking the 2004 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship
Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which served as an initial screen
of program entrants. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists,
which represents less than one percent of U.S. high school
seniors, includes the highest scoring entrants in each state.
Susan Lindsay, Prep’s Head of School, commented, “Jackson
Preparatory School is always pleased to recognize the students
who distinguish themselves through high scores on the PSAT
test. The Prep semifinalists in the 2005 Merit Scholarship
Competition are students who bring recognition to themselves,
their families and the school. Congratulations!” Pictured
