*Shane Porter, the new band director, would like to meet with all student instrumentalists after school Monday.  This includes those who have been in the band and others who play guitar or other instruments in outside groups. 

*MS Sports Medicine will be offering free physicals at the Trade Mart on Sat., May 10 to all athletes or anyone who plans on participating in Jackson Prep’s sports. Those who plan to attend must arrive at 7:00 a.m. with a physical form that is signed by a parent.

*Photo retakes for 10th & 11th grade Community Service & NSE- Spanish I ONLY -Mon, May 13 at 10:55 in the gym.

*LIBRARY obligations are now OVERDUE. If you have an overdue book, a fine, or an I.O.U., please tend to it TODAY!  Students who have not cleared their accounts in the library will not be allowed to take their exams.

*Dr. Franklin’s Spanish II students should sign up outside room 118 before Fri. for dinner El Potrillo or El Sombero

anyone who needs a few more. Call Christy Burgess in the counseling office, 932-8106 ext 232.

*Swap Shop Uniform Resale - Parents, information and instructions can be found on the Prep Website under the "Parents" tab.  Please print out the forms and instructions if you plan to participate. The Annual Swap shop turn in date is Monday, May 19th and the sale is Tuesday, May 20th.

 

Community Service Opportunity

*The American Cancer Society’s Camp Rainbow is looking for certified lifeguards to volunteer the wk of June 3-6. Please see Katie Welch for info.

*The American Red Cross Auxiliary needs volunteers to help man tables at local area merchants in Brandon to sell Sonic Gift cards as a fundraiser from the American Red Cross this Sat, May 10. They will also need volunteers through the month of June. More information, please contact Ms. Sue Spitchley at susus@bellsouth.net

 

Counseling Corner

*Seniors planning to attend summer school at Holmes CC:  Registration is May 28-29. Late registration is June 2-3. You must register in person – your parents cannot register for you. Second term registration is begins June 24th.  You will need to bring a copy of your ACT score when you register.

*Students entering 11th or 12th grade who have an interest in art & design are eligible to participate in camp I Design June 22-27 at MSU. Cost - $500; Registration deadline– June 9. Information on how to register is available in the counseling office.

*The City of Ridgeland is now accepting applications for their Junior Diplomat Program. Applicants must live in the city of Ridgeland or have a parent or guardian with a business in Ridgeland, be a rising junior or senior, have a 3.0 GPA. Come by the counseling office for an application. Deadline for applying is July 1.
