IMPORTANT DATES FOR JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS

 

 

 

April 24                                   Junior High Dateless Spring Dance for Prep students only - (grades 7-9) – Manning Patriot Center, 7:30-10:00 PM, admission $5.00. Casual attire - nice jeans, t-shirts, or knit shirts for boys; skirts, dresses, jeans, nice tops for girls. 

 

April 25                                   School Holiday

 

May 9                                      Junior High Class Day - (9th grade honors program/graduation) 9:00 in the auditorium.  Students are to report to their 1st period class by 8:15. Parents and siblings at Prep invited.  Attire for 9th grade girls is Sunday dress – no spaghetti straps, strapless, or revealing top; skirts should be appropriate length for sitting on stage. Attire for 9th grade boys is dress slacks, light colored dress shirt, tie, and dress shoes.  Pictures will be taken for the media; reception after the program. Ninth grade class dismissed for the day after reception. Activities are planned for the class by 9th Grade Coordinators- information will be mailed to students’ home

 

May 10                                    Free Sports Physicals (for 2008-09 school year) – Prep’s time is 7:30 a.m. – MS Trade Mart, provided by MS Sports Medicine. Special forms needed for this day may be picked up in the Jr. and Sr. Offices.  Physicals are required each school year for participation in any sport.

 

May 13                                    Eighth Grade Honors Forum – 10:55 - auditorium; parents and siblings are invited

 

May 14                                     Seventh Grade Honors Forum – 10:55 – auditorium; parents and siblings are invited

 

May 15                                                Early school dismissal - 12:30 (no lunch served)

May 20                                                Textbooks repurchased – Cafeteria – 9:30-11:00

                                                Books must be approved for resale by subject area teachers prior to this date

 

May 23                                                Report cards mailed

 

June 2 - July 11                      Summer School

 

August 6                                  New 8th and 9th Grade Student Orientation – 1:00 in Jr. High Bldg. with a parent

 

August 7                                  Returning 8th grade students receive schedules & buy books-8:30 in Jr. High Bldg.

                                                Returning 9th grade students receive schedules & buy books-9:00 in Jr. High Bldg.

                                                New 7th Grade Student Orientation - 9:00 – auditorium – a parent should attend

                                               

August 11                                First day of school - 12:30 dismissal
