PREP 2009 WENDY’S HIGH SCHOOL HEISMAN SCHOOL WINNERS
Jackson Prep is extending special congratulations to Mary Mikell Lampton and Marco Aru, who were named School Winners for the prestigious Wendy’s High School Heisman Award October 22. To be eligible for this award, students must display academic aptitude, athletic talent and exceptional commitment to their communities. “All our applicants have shown throughout their high school careers that they embody the Wendy’s High School Heisman lifestyle,” said Dr. Luke Nealey, Head of Senior High. “This award is the perfect way to celebrate their achievements and showcase the outstanding talent at Jackson Prep.”

Jackson Prep’s 2009 boys and girls cross country teams held an awards banquet on November 16. The boy’s team won the 2009 MAIS AAA state championship, and the girl’s team was the 2009 MAIS AAA runner-up. PREP JUNIOR HIGH CHEERLEADERS BOWL GAME BOUND
The Jackson Prep Junior High cheerleaders will be performing in the 2009 Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida on New Year's Day. The squad was invited to perform after winning three first place trophies at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) summer camp. THREE PREP 2009 JUNIOR HIGH CHEERLEADERS ALL AMERICANS
Three Jackson Prep Junior High cheerleaders were selected as All Americans by the Universal Cheerleaders Association. In recognition of this award, they have been invited to march and perform in the 60th Annual H-E-B Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade in Houston, Texas. Only the top 12% of the cheerleaders and dancers who attended varsity camps have earned the chance to march in a holiday parade of this caliber. PREP’S LANG FIRST AT 2009 MAIS AAA BOYS CROSS COUNTRY MEET
Jackson Prep junior Daniel Lang was the first place runner at the MAIS AAA 2009 boys state championship cross country meet. Lang, with a time of 18:29, lead his team to a first place finish as well.
