All students in Grade 8 are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Students must be enrolled or re-enrolled by March 8 to receive the scholarship.

Applicants must CLICK HERE to complete the scholarship application. Once submitted, the application will be reviewed, and eligible candidates will be invited to interview in the next phase. 

Applicants must complete the online application (CLICK HERE) by January 15. The applicants invited to the interview phase will be notified of their advancement by late January or early February. This phase of the process will include an interview and also have the applicant write an essay. The recipient will be notified by March 1, and must be enrolled or re-enrolled by March 8. There will be an award presentation in early May.

Each year, a Grade 8 student will be selected based on a holistic assessment of his or her academic performance, community involvement, and contributions to school activities. The chosen student must meet grade point average and participation criteria to qualify and remain in good standing through annual reviews conducted by the Jackson Preparatory School McRae Honors Scholarship Committee.

The McRae Honors Scholarship renews each year through the recipient's senior year, contingent on academic performance, community service, and participation in school activities.
