Discovering Joy In The Journey

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it."

Psalm 118:24

Jackson Prep Lower School nurtures, inspires, and prepares children to reach their God-given potential through exploration, discovery, and intentional instruction while guiding them to become academically prepared, compassionate, and upstanding members of the Jackson Prep family and our community.

We cultivate the joy of learning in a safe, loving environment that ignites the power of imagination and creates a foundational love of learning. Our developmentally appropriate, vertically aligned curriculum is designed to reach each level in your child’s educational journey. Beginning with our youngest students, we focus on building a strong foundation that develops along the way. As our students grow, so do our expectations as we begin to prepare them for Middle School. The robust curriculum of the Lower School goes beyond the foundational subjects of reading and math. Social studies, science, visual arts, music, STEAM, and world languages are integrated throughout the curriculum. We also emphasize biblical learning through Bible classes and chapel. Events like Monday Meeting at the flagpole help build and enhance the JPLS sense of community.

Whether your child is leaving the nest for the first time or you are transferring from another school, the decision on where to send your child can be difficult. But, it does not have to be. Jackson Prep Lower School offers an unparalleled educational experience in a state-of-the-art facility intentionally designed with learning opportunities on our walls, in our classrooms, and in our outdoor play areas. Contact us for a personal tour and let us show you how to find joy in your child’s educational journey.

Joining The Prep Family

Preschool: PreK-3, PreK-4, & Kindergarten

The Jackson Prep Preschool takes a “whole child” approach to development and ensures that every student receives opportunities to grow emotionally, socially, physically, intellectually, and spiritually. Our program is committed to educational excellence through developmentally appropriate, play-based experiences with an emphasis on biblical teachings and principles.

A day in the life of a Prep Preschooler includes hands-on exploration, foundational academics, art and music enrichment, and biblical learning. Through outdoor play in our mud kitchens, planting gardens, green spaces, and playgrounds our students are afforded daily opportunities for independent thinking, problem solving, and socialization. Our bright and airy learning spaces foster imaginative play and creative thinking.

Lower School: Grades 1-4

Confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning grow daily in Grades 1 through 4. As our littles move up to the Lower School, we focus on students as individuals with specific strengths and needs. Our faculty views learning as taking place on a continuum thereby celebrating and encouraging student areas of strength while addressing those needing development. The primary goal is to challenge our students to fully reach their God-given potential.

The Jackson Prep Lower School day centers around experiences that ignite lifelong learning and empower and encourage our students to become independent thinkers while understanding the value of working together. Our  curriculum challenges students while providing them with the support they need to achieve success. The skills students develop in the Lower School provide a springboard for learning that is vertically integrated with the Jackson Prep Middle School expectations. Our students use their acquired skills to think critically, creatively, and collaboratively, and ensure that they are prepared to enter the next phase of their education.
