Meet Our Head Coaches

Doug Goodwin - Football Head Coach
Coach Goodwin has spent the last seven years in various coaching positions with Auburn University and the University of Mississippi. Most recently, Goodwin was a Special Teams Analyst at the University of Mississippi. From 2014 to 2019, he held various coaching and analyst positions at Auburn University, his alma mater. Those positions and responsibilities included Director of High School Relations, NFL Liaison, Director of the Walk-On Program, special teams game planning, and offensive and defensive analysis. Goodwin's high school coaching career saw him lead teams to 14 area/regional championships, 21 state playoff appearances, five state championship appearances, and one state championship. He was the first coach in Alabama High School Athletic Association history to take three different schools to a state championship game. The former Auburn University defensive back has amassed 234 wins over his 27-year coaching career, was named the Alabama Football Coaches Association State Coach of the Year in 2008, and was elected to the AHSAA Sports Hall of Fame in 2015. He is married to Donna Parrett Goodwin and has two grown children, Dusty and Devin. -
Cory Caton - Softball Head Coach
Coach Caton enters her 15th year Coaching at Jackson Prep. During that time she was one 6 Overall State Championships and won over 400 games in her short time here at Prep. She attened Troy University where she played Division 1 Softball and was an Academic All American Pitcher. -
Jon Marcus Duncan - Soccer Head Coach
Coach Duncan enters his 19th year at Jackson Prep as head girls and boys Soccer Coach. During that time Coach Duncan has won over 600 games. Coach Duncan has lead the two programs to 23 State Championships. Coach Duncan graduated from Prep in 1995. -
Rusty Burke - Girls Track Head Coach
.Coach Burke has been with Prep for 19 years. He is the linebackers coach for the high school football team. Rusty is also in his 5th year as head coach of the girls' track and field program. While playing baseball at Hind Jr College and the University of Georgia, Rusty developed his love for speed training and strength & conditioning. He serves as sports performance coordinator and assistant strength & conditioning coach for all sports. -
Brent Heavener - Baseball Head Coach
Coach Heavener enters his sixth year as Head Coach of the Jackson Prep Baseball Team. In his two years as Head Baseball Coach, Coach Heavener has won 2 State Championships. During his time as an assistant coach at Jackson Prep he won 2 State Champioonships in Football and Baseball. From 2002-2008, he was the hitting and outfield coach and recruiting coordinator at Freed-Hardeman University. -
Michael McAnally - Girls Basketball Head Coach
Coach McAnally is a 1996 Jackson Prep graduate. He is in his 8th year at Prep and in his 22nd-year overall coaching and teaching. He has over 566 wins in 19 years as a varsity girls and boys coach, including four division state titles, two-class state titles, and one overall state championship. -
Jordan Pritchard - Cross Country Head Coach
Coach Jordan graduated from Mississippi College in 2019 with a B.A. in marketing. He was a member of the cross country team while at MC. He is currently pursuing his master's in business administration at Mississippi College. 2022 will be Coach Pritchard’’s third year with Prep and first year as head coach with the cross country team. -
Marcus Thompson - Boys Track Head Coach
Coach Thompson has been at Prep for 14 years and is in his 21st year coaching in the MAIS. Coach Thompson has won 5 Overall Boys Track State Championships. He is currently the offensive line coach and Co-Offensive Coordinator of the varsity Jackson Prep football team. -
Tim Wise - Boys Basketball Head Coach
Coach Wise has coached at 2 other High Schools in the Memphis area, and for the past 19 years, has coached at Millsaps College. At Millsaps, Wise led the Majors to a conference championship, most wins in a season, and an Elite 8 appearance in the 2007-08 year. Wise was inducted into the Millsaps Sports Hall of Fame in 2012 for his accomplishments as a student-athlete and coach. -
Rachel Causey - Head Tennis Coach
Coach Causey is in her 12th year as the head boys and girls tennis coach at Jackson Prep. She has won a total of 16 State Championships, 9 in Boys Tennis and 7 in Girls Tennis. She attended the University of Mississippi where she played tennis from 1984-1988. -
Kevin Robichaux- Golf Head Coach
Coach Robichaux has two undergraduate degrees from Ole Miss where I attended from 1998-2004. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Southern Studies and another in Business Management/Marketing. He started teaching and coaching career at Brandon High School from 2006-2011 where he taught Mississippi Studies. He was also the head 9th grade girls basketball coach and assistant varsity coach. He left Brandon High School to go back to school at Mississippi State where he participated in their Professional Golf Management (PGM) program to become a professional golfer. Coach Robichaux interned at the Country Club of Jackson for almost a full year when he decided to go back to teaching. He taught Mississippi Studies at Northwest High School and was the first head coach of the girls golf team the 2013/2014 school year. He was lucky enough to get the opportunity from Mrs. Lindsey to begin my teaching career at Jackson Prep in 2014 and now have the opportunity to continue to coach a sport he loves and has a great passion for. -
Lauren Markle - Volleyball Head Coach
Coach Lauren began her first season on the Jackson Prep coaching staff as the volleyball head coach in the 2022. Lauren spent the previous year at St. Joseph in Madison, where her team won the MAIS division II championship. Lauren was a collegiate volleyball player at the University of Montevallo in Alabama and was a volleyball graduate assistant coach at Mississippi College from 2010-2012, where she earned her MBA. Since 2012 she has coached volleyball for Mississippi Volleyball club and is now the director. She is also the proud parent of Kingston, who is 6 years old. -
Colton Fremont- Swim Team Head Coach
Coach Fremont is a Tupelo High School swimming alumni who continued his passion for the sport by swimming at Delta State University. As a native Mississippi swimmer, Colton at one point held the High School State record in the 200 yard individual medley. He was the state champion two years in a row in both individual races, the 200 IM and the 100 yard Butterfly, as well as the relays he swam. At Delta State University, Colton helped his team to win their conference title in back to back years before ultimately retiring after his junior year. Colton graduated with a Business Management degree in 2016 before moving on and obtaining his Masters of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, graduating with his Masters in 2021. Colton currently works full time as a Financial Representative for Modern Woodmen of America. He lives in Jackson with his wife Lydia and four year old daughter, Naomi.
